What you actually do

You aim a cannon and fire bullets at fish. Each bullet costs credits from your balance, and hitting a fish rewards you with a payout that depends on the fish type. Small fish pay less and appear often; large or special fish pay more and are harder to hit. Some games add bosses, bombs that hit several fish at once, or lightning effects.

The important point is that your skill only partly matters. The game also uses chance to decide whether a hit defeats a fish, so a steady hand will not ensure a profit.
